Soda Frame—For Bowlers Who Don't Drink BeerFunBowlingTees.com creates a family-friendly alternative to the beer frame, and releases a line of T-shirts to promote it.APOPKA, FL — April 24th, 2007 — In the sport of bowling, a beer frame is when all bowlers in a team or group except for one bowls a strike in the same frame. It is called a beer frame because of a tradition that involves the one bowler who didn't score a strike buying a beer for everyone in the group. Even those who do not follow this tradition still call it a beer frame when that happens. However, bowling has recently become a more family-oriented activity, and has attracted many who have not yet reached the drinking age, as well as those who just want to have some good clean fun without drinking. Many bowling centers have even banned smoking to cater to this direction bowling has taken. So Kenny Bentley, owner and administrator of FunBowlingTees.com, decided it was time for a family-friendly alternative to the beer frame. So he developed a new line of T-shirts to set a new trend—the soda frame.

In bowling, a "beer frame" is when all bowlers in a team or group except for one bowls a strike in the same frame. It is called that because of an old tradition, in which the bowler who does not score a strike buys a beer for everyone else in the group. Not everyone follows this tradition, but many still call it a beer frame when this happens.
However, bowling has recently become more family oriented, and has attracted participation from those who have not yet reached the drinking age, as well as those who just want to have some good clean fun without drinking alcohol. So now, FunBowlingTees.com brings you an alternative to the beer frame for kids and non-drinkers--the "Soda Frame". Not everyone follows the beer frame tradition mentioned before, nor do we encourage it, but many still call it a beer frame. But now there's something else to say around kids and non-drinkers when this happens.
And to go with it, FunBowlingTees.com brings you the "Soda Frame" T-shirt. These T-shirts come in adult and kid sizes, and feature the words "SODA FRAME!" in big red letters. The adult T-shirts read, "I don't drink beer." The kids' T-shirts instead read, "I'm too young to drink beer." And like all our products, these shirts are available in various colors and styles and in all sizes.

FunBowlingTees.com now has a new line of T-shirts available at our T-shirt store. If you've visited our site, you're probably familiar with our Gutter Duster T-shirts, designed to be an excuse for bowling gutter balls, and our I'd Rather Be Bowling T-shirts, for those who would rather be bowling even though they stink at it so much they almost hate bowling. If you have ever heard someone say, "Your ball will be right back," to a frustrated bowler, and then perhaps the ball didn't come back, then you will relate to our new Bad Ball Return T-shirts.
Have you ever been bowling, bowled a bad ball, and then someone tells you that your ball will be right back? And suppose the ball return didn't return the ball right away, because the ball got stuck or the ball return wasn't working well. Then you had to call the front desk and ask for a ball return, and it takes forever for them to do it, especially in a big bowling center. Our new Bad Ball Return T-shirts poke fun at that. On the top it says, "Your ball will be right back." Below that, it says, "Okay, any second now..." and then "Okay, any minute now..." and so on. And at the bottom, there is an intercom button, and then it says, "Ball return on lane 150, please." I'll let you see the rest for yourself. If you have told a frustrated bowler, "Your ball will be right back," then you should get a kick out of this one, even if you've never seen their ball not come back after you say it.

I recently put up a blog for FunBowlingTees.com mostly for news about this site, but also to share interesting news about bowling and anything else interesting I find occasionally. But when I searched the Web for other bowling blogs, from which I could find information in to post and link to in this blog, I was pretty disappointed. I found some bowling blogs which were good, but they were more of a personal nature--people bragging about their high scores and hot streaks and talking strictly about their personal experiences with bowling. In other bowling blogs, the entries were just a mish-mash of photos and stuff with little substance thrown together, and they actually called it a blog. Again, some were really good, but contained little (if anything) that would be considered useful, informative, entertaining, or interesting in any other fashion to me and other fellow bowlers. Just stuff about themselves. One or two others had information and statistics about bowling tournaments. They were very good, but not what I was looking for. But after hours of searching and searching, there was one blog that managed to actually hold my attention for .001 microseconds (or so it seems--more like 5 seconds or so) without me just skimming through it.

After several months of preparation (and plenty of time off to let my mind sort out exactly what to do with this site), FunBowlingTees.com is officially open. There is still a lot I want to do with this site, but enough is done so this site can open and be marketed. We have two product lines for sale. The Gutter Duster line is for those who are tired of bowling gutter balls. They won't help you become a better bowler, but it will give you an excuse. The I'd Rather Be Bowling line is for those who would rather be bowling than where they are, even though they stink at bowling so much that they almost hate it.
